Behind the scenes

How Cuisly's AI dreams up your recipes

Behind a dish are a request, ingredients and choices. Here is how AI fits into that journey.

Cuisly's AI isn't a gimmick bolted onto the app: it's a layer designed to save time in the kitchen, without ever taking your recipes away from you. Here's how it actually works.

On your device first

On recent iPhones, Cuisly relies first on Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device model. Generation then happens right on your phone: your requests never leave the device, and everything stays fast even without a stable connection.

When a device doesn't support the local model, Cuisly falls back to a cloud service to keep the same experience. Either way the goal is the same: give you a clear, structured, ready-to-cook recipe.

Your recipes are yours. The AI suggests; you stay in control to edit, save or delete whatever it generates.

What it can do

  • Invent a recipe from a craving ("a quick lactose-free pasta dish").
  • Start from your pantry: tell it what you have, the AI builds around it.
  • Generate an image of the dish to picture the result before cooking.
  • Turn a recipe into a shopping list in one tap.

And its limits

An AI is still an assistant, not a chef. Quantities sometimes need a tweak, and an "invented" dish deserves a second look before you fire up the stove. Cuisly owns that boundary: the AI speeds up the start, you keep the taste and common sense.

That's also why everything it produces is editable and stored locally: a generated recipe becomes one of your recipes, which you can adjust as much as you like.
